Just checking if this was ok. I decided to bluff this river, since

    1. it is conceivable that i can have a medium flush that vbets here.
    2. i got the 9 blocker, which is in these guys possible calling range on the river.
    3. Its a 4 flush board, so that again makes less combinations of flushes i can get called with.

The river raise is weird, since the guy seemed solid, but even though i dont know what exactly he could have, i figure he is never bluffing. I guess he could have had a straight flush.
Would you reconsider bluffing if low straightflush combos become possible?

isn't this a fold on flop? we not drawing to the nuts(only 3 8's are clear outs) and there are alot of bad turn cards 5 way on turn for our hand. It's hard to rep nutflush since we have no blocker for it

PS: im a PLO noob, just checked out your vid and i want to learn more about plo so im just posting what i think and hope i can learn some : )

Yeah i thought the call was kinda borderline, but the reason for calling is that i have alot of blockers. Im not sure if the call is ok. Gotta wait for botafogo.

I thinkt he call on the flop is ok but you ahve to barrell that turn, if you are making the play to steal on teh flop. They both check to you in position and you check it back? If you bet the turn and someone calls or raises you are done with the hand.

Why is turn barrel better than a delayed bluff on the river? I often seen people check medium flushes here. Or slowplay the nutflush. Really want to know your reasoning for the turn being the better spot to bluff here and why and if you would double barrel when you bet the turn.

Cause by betting the turn you are employing leverage. Yopu are telling him that if he calls this bet, he may face an even bigger bet on the river. by waiting til the river, all the cards are out. He is more apt to call because there are no streets left for him to lose money on.

Lots of good points made here and I think with the right reasoning you can choose to play the hand many different ways as long as you have sound reasons behind it. Here is one importatn point, which is not mentioned. We have JJ99, which decreases by A LOT, the chance that anyone else is calling with a KJxx, or J9xx type of hand here. Because of this, when guy behind us calls I put him on a FD way more often. For that reason I do not like bluffing turn or river. I think you can call flop, but once the FD hits on river, I would just be done with the hand to be honest. Versus 2 oponents on this board, someone has the FD 75-80% of the time, especially when we hold a ton of blockers to most straightdraws.

And with one river bet, you clearly can never fold a weaker flush, so I don't think it's a good bet.
